I got to share the gospel with Luke, Andrew, Jeremy, Elizabeth and Braxton at the Southern Farm Show in Raleigh, NC. Initially, they all told me they were 100% sure they were going to Heaven. However, when I asked why, these were the answers that I got: "I follow the bible. I go to church. I am nice to people. I forgive others. I pray. I serve the country. I try with all my power to do what is right. I treat others the way that I want to be treated. I believe that God is the only God. I love God. I love the story of God. I accepted Jesus in my heart." Only Luke mentioned anything about Jesus. So I shared the gospel with them. They all acknowledged that they were liars, thieves, and murderers at heart. When I asked them how they could pay for their sins, they said, "Pray and ask for forgiveness." Would that pay for their murder? Certainly not! They all understood this day that they were not trusting in the right payment. In other words, they were trusting in 'their payment' instead of 'Christ's payment'. All understood the gospel and understood that Christ's blood had already paid for their sins and that the resurrrection was the receipt that said, "Paid in full." After prayer, they said, "He saved us."
