Esau was 90% sure of eternal life because he believed in God and went to church. He thought that if he went to church more he could get to 100% sure. He understood that he was a LIAR, ADULTERER, and MURDERER at heart. He thought that by 'asking for forgiveness' and 'praying' and 'doing good deeds' he could pay for his sins. He understood that HIS PAYMENT was telling God that JESUS' PAYMENT was NO GOOD. He placed his faith in Christ's blood payment, knowing that the resurrection was proof that his sin debt was PAID IN FULL. "HE SAVED MY LIFE."
